- Cultural Ambassador • Entrepreneur • International Speaker • Community Leader • Educator • Event Organizer Maestra Yajaira Rubio Machado is a visionary cultural leader, entrepreneur, international speaker, educator, and community advocate whose work bridges culture, business, education, and community empowerment. Born and raised in Mocorito, Sinaloa, Mexico, Yajaira comes from a family deeply rooted in Mexican music, arts, and traditions. Her grandfather was a composer of Banda music, and at just four years old, she began her journey in Mexican folklórico dance—planting the seed for what would become a lifelong commitment to preserving and sharing Mexico’s cultural heritage. She is the Founder and Director of Moon Azteca Dance and Art School, an organization dedicated to preserving Mexican culture through folklórico and pre-Hispanic dance, art, music, history, traditions, and cultural education. Through Moon Azteca, she has created opportunities for children, youth, adults, and families to discover their roots, build confidence, and experience the richness of Mexican culture. Her professional preparation includes multiple certifications in Mexican dance, traditions, arts, and cultural enrichment from different regions of Mexico. She has continued expanding her education in Indigenous and pre-Hispanic dance, traditions, and history, as well as early childhood education, strengthening her ability to combine cultural preservation with meaningful educational experiences. Beyond the arts, Maestra Yajaira has established herself as a respected business and community leader. She has served in leadership roles with organizations including the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce, Solano Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Vallejo Sister City Association, Vallejo Art Walk, Vallejo Naval & Historical Museum, and Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Silicon Valley. Her leadership has also taken her beyond the local stage. Maestra Yajaira has spoken and presented at business conferences, leadership gatherings, cultural programs, and women’s conferences in the United States and internationally, sharing messages centered on entrepreneurship, leadership, cultural identity, resilience, community service, and the power of purpose. As a presenter and event organizer, she has helped create and support business, cultural, educational, and community events designed to connect people, celebrate heritage, elevate entrepreneurs, and create opportunities for women and future generations. In 2025, Maestra Yajaira was honored as a Woman of the Year by Congressman John Garamendi, recognizing her leadership, community service, and dedication to making a meaningful impact in the communities she serves. Her work also extends internationally through cultural and community collaborations between the United States and Mexico. She believes that culture can serve as a bridge—connecting communities across borders while creating opportunities for education, economic development, collaboration, and mutual understanding. Whether she is standing on a stage as a speaker, teaching the next generation, organizing an event, representing the business community, or advocating for Mexican culture, Maestra Yajaira leads with one guiding belief: “Cuando el propósito es más fuerte que el miedo.” “When purpose is stronger than fear.” Her journey is a testament to the power of turning heritage into leadership, passion into service, and purpose into lasting impact.
